Paignton Community Larder

About Us

Paignton Community Larder is dedicated to supporting the local community by providing essential food supplies to those in need. Our mission is to combat food insecurity and ensure that no one in our community goes hungry.
With over 98,000 meals issued in 2023 and nearly 80,000 meals in 2024 and thanks to nearly 3000 hours of volunteer time, we continue to meet the high demand and support local people in times of crisis.
The Paignton Community Supermarket opened in June 2023 to provide a low-cost option to those struggling with the current cost-of-living crises.

What we do

Food Parcels
The Paignton Community Larder is a foodbank founded in December 2017.
We serve the Paignton and wider Torbay community with food parcels to those families and individuals suffering from poverty and crisis situations.

Community Supermarket
Membership of the supermarket is referral based and means tested.
The Community Supermarket does not replace the Community Larder which will continue to help those most in need. Instead, it bridges the gap as people move from crisis into managing with increasingly tight budgets.
Please do get in touch with us for more information.

Volunteer Opportunities
We provide volunteer opportunities for those who wish to give back to the community and be part of something that changes lives.
Volunteers play a crucial role in our operations, assisting with food distribution, sorting donations, and community engagement.
Do get in touch to find out how you could be part of the team!
